This local section of the IESNA was founded in September of 1976. We are a nonprofit organization of lighting industry professionals united in a mission "to advance knowledge and to disseminate information for the improvement of the lighted environment to the benefit of society". This section has approximately 60 active members that reside in an area of North Carolina from the Research Triangle (Raleigh, Durham & Chapel Hill) to the coast. Our membership includes a diverse group of professionals including lighting designers, architects, engineers, manufacturers, interior designers, electrical contractors, facility managers and salespersons, just to name a few. Please view our programs page to see what the section is more about. Through our monthly meetings and educational programs, the section provides a value-packed, quality encounter by drawing upon the abundant resources from our community of high-profile lighting professionals. Our monthly meetings are as diverse as our membership; there is something for everyone. Our educational programs offer introductory course for the beginners, as well as advanced course for those with a deeper a foundation in illuminating engineering. The programs allow you to acquire Continuing Education credits for Professional Engineers in NC, and for the LC and CLEP programs.
